ماهر زين – رمضان جانا
إصحى يا نايم
( iṣḥi īā nāīm)
O you who is asleep, wake up!
وحّد الدّايم
( wāḥid ad-dāim)
And profess your belief in the unity of the Everlasting!
لا إله إلا الله
( lā ilāha illā Allāh)
There is no god but Allah
رمضان كريم
( Ramaḍān karīm)
Have a blessed Ramadan!
فوانيس الحارة تنوّر
( fawānīs al-ḥārah tunawwir)
Our neighborhood’s lanterns are lit,
تحكي عن ضيف جديد
( taḥkī ‘an ḍayf jadīd)
Announcing the arrival of a new guest,
يملأ قلبي أفراح
( yamla’ qalbī afrāḥ)
Who will fill my heart with joy,
ويخلّي الدنيا عيد
( wa-yukhallī ad-dunyā ‘īd)
And will turn our days into one big celebration
رمضان جانا
( Ramaḍān jānā)
Ramadan has come back to us,
وفرحنا به
( wafraḥnā bih)
And its arrival has brought us so much joy,
بعد غيابه
( ba’d ghayāb)
After being gone for so long
أهلا رمضان
( ‘ahlan Ramaḍān)
Welcome Ramadan!
غنّوا وقولوا شهر بطوله
( ghnawwa waqūlu shahr biṭūlah)
Sing along and say, all month long
غنّوا وقولوا
( ghnawwa waqūlu)

أهلا رمضان
( ‘ahlan Ramaḍān)
Welcome Ramadan!
رمضان جانا
( Ramaḍān jānā)
Ramadan has come back to us,
وصوت الداعي فينا يبان
( waṣawtu ad-dā’i fīnā yabān)
And the voice of the caller rises amongst us,
بيندهنا بكل أذان
( bīnduhunā bi kulli ‘adhān)
Calling us with each call to prayer (Adhan),
يقول حيّ على القرآن
( yaqūlu ḥayy ‘alā al-Qur’ān)
Saying: Come to the Qur’an!
ويملأ قلوبنا بالإيمان
( wa yamla’ qulūbanā bil-īmān)
And filling our hearts with faith (iman)
و ترجع لمّة الأحباب
( wa turja’ lummatal-aḥbāb)
Loved ones gather together once again,
ونسمع دقّة الأبواب
( wa nasma’ daqat al-abwāb)
And we hear the sounds of doors being knocked on by guests,
وسفرة حب تجمعنا
( wa sofraṯu ḥub tajma’nā)
And a dinner table filled with love gathers us,
تلم الشمل بعد غياب
( talam ash-shaml ba’d ghayāb)
Reuniting us after we were apart for so long
رمضان جانا
( Ramaḍān jānā)
Ramadan has come back to us,
