ماهر زين – هو أحمدٌ
قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
“إِنَّ لِي أَسْمَاءً، أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَنَا أَحْمَدُ، وَأَنَا الْمَاحِي الَّذِي يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِيَ الْكُفْرَ، وَأَنَا الْحَاشِرُ الَّذِي يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ عَلَى قَدَمِي، وأنا العاقبُ (والعاقبُ الذي ليس بعده نبيٌّ)”. رواه البخاري ومسلم
(The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
“I have many names: I am Muhammad; I am Ahmad;
I am Al-Mahi (The Eraser), by whom Allah erases blasphemy;
I am Al-Hashir (The Gatherer), before whom people are gathered (on the Day of Judgement);
I am Al-‘Aqib (the Last Prophet), after whom there are no more Prophets;

( Huwa Aḥmadun wa Muḥammad)
He is Ahmad and Muhammad
قلبي محمّد
( Qalbī Muḥammad)
Muhammad, my heart
بهديهِ نتعبَّد
( Bihdīhi nata’abbad)
With his guidance, we worship Allah

يا ربِّ صلِّ عليهِ
( Yā Rabbī ṣalli ʿalayhi)
O Allah, send peace upon him,
ما الطيرُ ناحَ وغَرَّد
( Mā aṭ-ṭayrū nāḥa wagharrad)
every time a bird sings and chants

وهو النبيُّ الماحي
( Wahuwa an-Nabī al-Māḥī)
He is the Prophet The Eraser (Al-Mahi)

Muhammad, my heart
الوجهُ كالمصباحِ
( Al-wajhu ka’l-miṣbāḥ)
with a face like a shining lantern

Muhammad, my heart
مَحا الظلام ونادى
( Maḥā aẓ-ẓalām wanādā)
He erased darkness and called
نادَى لكل فلاحِ
( Nādā likulli falāḥ)
Called people to the way of success
وهو النبيُّ الحاشِر
( Wahuwa an-Nabī al-Ḥāshir)
He Is the Prophet, The Gatherer (Al-Hashir)

Muhammad, my heart
ونحن فيه نُفاخر
( Wa naḥnu fīhi nufākhur)
He is the source of our pride

من لم يُصلِّ عليه
( Man lam yuṣallī ʿalayh)
Whomsoever doesn’t send peace upon him,
فهو البخيلُ الخاسِر
( Fahuwa al-bakhīlu al-khāsir)
is a miserly loser
وهو النبيُّ العاقِب
( Wahuwa an-Nabī al-ʿĀqib)
He is the Last Prophet (Al-‘Aqib)

قمرٌ أضاءَ كواكب
( Qamarun ‘aḍā’ kuwākib)
He’s a moon that lit up the planets

مِسكُ الخِتامِ حبيبي
( Misku al-khitām ḥabībī)
My beloved, the seal of all the Prophets
أعلى الأنامِ مَراتِب
( A’la al-anām marātib)
The loftiest rank among all creation
هو أحمدٌ
( Huwa Aḥmad)
He is Ahmad
لكل العاشقين حبيبٌ
( Likulli al-ʿāshiqīn ḥabīb)
All those in love have a beloved
وأنا حبيبي .. حبيبي محمّد
( Wa anā ḥabībī… ḥabībī Muḥammad)
And my beloved … my beloved is Muhammad
